MALTING

During the steeping part of the malting process, grain material is steeped (soaked) in water. Using Germtech's activated water; moisture is more actively transported to the germ and endosperm. 

From the research that has been carried out there is a marked shortening of the germination process; an increased content of simple sugars and increased amino acids.  Additionally, the amount of water required is greatly reduced. 

The benefits to the maltsters are;

  • Up to a 30% reduction in malting time, delivering a potential 70% increase in production.

  • Increased yield of malt.

  • Increased quality of malt produced.

  • Lower costs through less water being used.

  • Environmental benefits are delivered using less water in a high water usage process.
